General
FirePlug easily installs on most Windows PCs, Apple MACs, and Linux machines with no Bluetooth drivers required.
FirePlug easily attaches to USB ports and installs as a VIRTUAL COM. Unlike other Bluetooth USB adapters which
load bulky Bluetooth drivers and require Operating System Support, the FirePlug natively supports SPP (Serial Port) or DUN (Dial UP networking) profiles.
Features
FirePlug utilizes the FTDI chip FT232RL, the latest in USB to serial conversion circuits. Microsoft
certified drivers are easily installed automatically over the network. Once detected, the user can
configure and control the FirePlug using simple ASCII strings over the COM port, no GUI or API drivers
into Bluetooth stacks need to be written. By using the simple COM interface, a more reliable and
stable connection can be made and maintained.
- Bluetooth Specification 2.0 (with EDR high data rate) compliant, also compatible with 1.1/1.2.
- Contains RN41 advanced Bluetooth 2.0 radio module, with full command set (refer to Roving Networks Module Software User Guide)
- Can be setup to wake sleeping PC or MAC when connected by remote Bluetooth device.
- Settings can be easily changed with AT commands via serial port and remotely over Bluetooth.
- DTR mode allows for connect disconnect via standard COM port signals.
- High Power (Class 1) 100Meter Bluetooth™ radio with integrated Antenna.
- 2 LEDs, Transmit/Received data, Power/Connection Status.
